1) Contact & General Support
If you are having an issue with your registration: have your registration confirmation or other relevant course details available, then contact our support team. Providing the course name and appointment date can help the team identify the problem more efficiently.
If you have signed up for a HeartCode or HeartSaver Course: visit the RQI® 1Stop learning platform to begin your course modules and visit your account page to reschedule and manage your registation.
Note: It can take up to 4 hours for your course to be available in RQI 1Stop.

2) Finding the Right Course
The right course depends on your job, professional role, and employer’s requirements. Healthcare professionals may need Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), while other workplaces may require Heartsaver CPR, AED, and First Aid training.

Project Heartbeat offers career-focused training options, including EMT training, phlebotomy, and vocational nursing. Visit our course directory to explore available programs and find information about enrollment, prerequisites, schedules, and program requirements.
Start by confirming the exact certification your employer requires, including the issuing organization and course type. If your employer requires an American Heart Association (AHA) certification, choose the appropriate AHA course rather than assuming all CPR or online certificates are equivalent.
If you’re still unsure, check with your employer or contact Project Heartbeat before registering.
3) CPR & Healthcare Certifications
Yes! We offer American Heart Association certified BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPR/First Aid courses in two formats:
- HeartCode / HeartSaver: online course module + in-person skills verification at locations across the Western US.
- In-Person class in Oakland, CA & Sacramento, CA.
Both course options issue the same AHA-approved eCard valid for 2 years from issue date.

Yes! American Heart Association course completion eCards are issued the day you complete your HeartCode Skills Verification session or in-person class with one of our certified instructors.
No! You are allowed to practice on the manikin and retry the skills session immediately. In fact, you are allowed to keep trying as many times as is necessary for you to pass during your appointment time. However, if you are having trouble, please reach out to our live support team during your session.
No, you will not have to pay for your first retake. We guarantee that our instructors will provide quality education to help you pass the course. If you don’t pass, you will be offered a free retake on the same day after a one-on-one review with an instructor. If you fail the retake, you will be allowed to take the class again at no additional cost. However, if you fail the second class, your third attempt will require payment.
Please note: You are required to have the current AHA textbook during the class, as the exam is open book/open notes. The AHA mandates that a textbook must be available to you before, during, and after the class.
Yes. American Heart Association ecards all have an individual serialized number that can be searched for in their database.
It can take up to 4 hours for your course to become available on RQI 1Stop after you purchase a class. Once you receive an email from RQI 1Stop indicating your coursework is available, create an account and sign in to begin. Visit the RQI 1Stop page at anytime to continue your work.
4) Vocational Programs & Career Training

5) Online Courses & Skills Verification
Follow the instructions provided with your course registration or online course purchase to set up an account on the RQI® 1Stop learning platform. At any time use your login to continue your course on your schedule.
If you cannot locate your access information, check your email, including your spam or junk folder.

6) Locations & In-Person Appointments
Project Heartbeat’s headquartered in Oakland, CA at 333 Hegenberger Rd, Suite #855 Oakland, CA 94621.
We have an additional in-person instruction location in Sacramento, CA at 2033 Howe Ave, Suite #150 Sacramento, CA 95825.
We operate autonomous Skills Verification Stations at 40+ locations across the United States.
Oakland Campus
SF/Berkeley via 880-South:
Take the Hegenberger Rd. exit toward Coliseum/Oakland Airpot. Turn Right onto Hegenberger Rd. (destination will be on the right).
Fremont/San Jose via 880-North:
Take the exit toward Hegenberger Road/Coliseum. Turn left onto Edes Ave. Take the 2nd left onto Hegenberger Rd. Slight left to stay on Hegenberger Rd. (destination will be on the right).
Sacramento Campus
Davis via 80-East:
Keep left to continue on US-50 E, follow signs for Sacramento/South Lake Tahoe/Capital City Freeway. Take the Interstate 80 Business East exit toward Reno/CA-99 S/Fresno. Continue onto I-80BUS E. Take exit 10 for El Camino Ave. Turn right onto El Camino Ave. Turn right onto Ethan Way. Turn left onto Cottage Way. (destination will be on the right).
Roseville via 80-West:
Follow I-80 W and I-80BUS W/Capital City Fwy to El Camino Ave in Sacramento. Take exit 10B for El Camino Ave toward Carmichael. Turn left onto El Camino Ave. Turn right onto Ethan Way. Turn left onto Cottage Way. (destination will be on the right).
HeartCode Education Centers
Project Heartbeat was hand chosen by the American Heart Association to be among a small group of training providers throughout the US to implement the latest AHA HeartCode simulation station training technology. These satellite locations offer the convenience of eLearning with a short skills verification using our self-guided voice-assisted manikin simulation stations. Please visit our locations page for a current list of stations throughout the United States.
There is a security guard at the front desk that will let you into the building if you have an appointment.
